Francis NGannou vs Stipe Miocic

I got this call wrong, very wrong, I thought that Stipe could wear him out and win with the wrestling, and the firefighter got a little wild and walked right into a left hook. I also thought that it was a HUGE mistake that Stipe came in a little lighter in this fight. If Stipe’s gameplan was to clinch, I think he would’ve came in heavier. Ngannou also got better, The low kicks were good, the sprawl was good, he was more efficient, and he wasn’t wild. Dare I say it? Ngannou was technical. OK so, Ngannou has several fights lined up. Next for the Cameroonian-French man should be Jon Jones, but if the UFC doesnt want to pay Jones, I could see them letting Ngannou fight Derrick Lewis, but Jones has a trump-card; maybe people dont want to see the Ngannou vs Lewis fight again. There is also a Stipe Miocic trilogy on the table for Ngannou, that Stipe Miocic 100% deserves read more

The UFC PPV is back. Pretty big HW bout on this card. And Like I said in previous posts, I wish the UFC can have a co-promotion with Bellator for a UFC/Bellator 26X card. That would be great. I know that Bellator will be in the 260s soon. I’m just an MMA fan thinking of stuff

Stipe MiocicvsFrancis N’Gannou

OK, so the rematch. Was it a fluke that Stipe beat Ngannou before? You cant call a 5 round win a Fluke though. I called Stipe at UFC 252 against Cormier, and I’ll call him again, why? The same reason I gave before; Stipe does well with adversity. I personally think that you have to, out technique Stipe to beat him, and I kinda view the DC loss as an anomaly TBH. Ngannou is the epidemy of having a puncher’s chance, but I just think Stipe is way too educated to fall for a one dimensional approach to a fight. I got Stipe by 5 round decision read more

The LFA stayed in Oklahoma for LFA 102. Elijah Johns was beaten by Bruno Souza by Split decision in the main event. The Event featured the 3 person booth, and although I’m not a fan of the three person booth, I didn’t mind this one. Rafael Lovato Jr. was on commentary, and the man is good. -Analytical, fair, immense BJJ knowledge. – I was very impressed. Sanko was there also… She was OK, but at times you could hear a little fighter bias in her commentary. IMO commentators need to throw their egos and biases out the door and call what they see. read more

Ok, so The LFA is using taglines now. I like it, good marketing. They can sell the fighters’ records without actually selling the fighters… shhh… like I said, Good Marketing. They Also moved from their Kansas Home to set up shop in Shawnee, Oklahoma for LFA 101: Undefeated. Tee Cummins beats Anthony Kalani by TKO in the 3rd round to win the main event.

Tee Cummins vs Anthony Kalani – Light Heavyweight – Kalani missed weight

Round 1

Leg kicks by Cummins, and harder leg kicks by Kalani, they throw hands a few times

MMA is back to full capacity in Texas, Fury FC 44 took place at the Bayou City Event center in Houston, TX and this was the first event for Fury on UFC FightPass. I’m so glad that its on FightPass because paying for some of the Fury events can be rough… I mean the fights are good, but some of the production can be absolutely horrible. With the FightPass deal, the production is significantly beefed up

This show had Prelims and Postlims, in between those, the main event showcased CJ Vergara vs Jacob Silva for the Fury FC Flyweight title. These two top level flyweight had a war, and CJ Vergara captured the Fury FC Flyweight title, by TKO in the 3rd round, in one of the best fights I’ve seen across any promotion, this year, so far. What happened at UFC 259?

UFG 259 was huge. It was almost like a big football event. Plenty of fights, plenty of talking points. It was just a monster for fight fans. If you are a fight fan, it was one of the “must see events”

No fights really fell through… The MMA Gods said “Go ahead and have some fun” … I think the vaccine is working, as I write this, 10% of the US population is vaccinated, and the CDC says that vaccinated people can gather in-doors without a mask… That’s a win read more

Here what actually happened

This. This is a fantastic card. This is what I want to see. Every fight on the main card means something, and most of the fights on the prelims mean something. Love it. Love it. Love it. Maybe the UFC can save the PPVs for moments like these and stop having throw away PPV cards. We’re still in the pandemic, the vaccine is still getting doled out, and we have no idea when things could be back to normal. I’m optimistic though…We have vaccines, they say its something like 95% efficient. I’m no scientist, but that sounds like a good thing. If we can get these into the right people’s arms, I’m hoping that fans should be back in arenas by the fall, read more

I trashed the LFA for their last show and now I have to congratulate them for LFA 100. It was a fun night of of fights. The Commentary was FANTASTIC. Michael Chiesa is the man for the job, I want to hear him call fights full time. I just think he meshed well with Ron Kruck, and the two person booth is all the LFA should ever use

Victor Altamirano beat Nate Smith to win the LFA Flyweight title at LFA 100

I’ve covered over two years of LFA shows, and this one was one of the the worst. Its certainly in the top 10 of the worst. The show was weird with that jam packed commentary booth, and the calls aren’t as technical as the previous color commentator. And the fights were a bit drab. lmao I’m complaining a lot huh? Moving on… One good thing about this card is it featured all the men’s weight classes except Bantamweight

So much weirdness with so many fights falling through. Kamaru Usman beat Gilbert Burns by TKO in the 3rd round of the Main Event at UFC 258 to retain his Welterweight Title.

All the fight cancellations are so exhausting. Fighters do a lot of interviews and press for no reason. They travel for no reason. Its rough

Kamaru Usman vs Gilbert Burns

I predicted this fight well. I stand by my prediction. I just think Usman was a little bit more durable when it was all said and done. Also it didn’t help that Burns laid on his back for a minute after he hurt Usman in the 1st round. But fights between friends are usually weird. read more
