I got this one very wrong. Vettori had the chin, but he didnt have the wrestling nor the Jiu Jitsu technique to get the job done. He had good moments, but his ground game wasnt good enough to capitalize on those good moments. I just thought that he’d be a little better

Where do I start? Ok… So who won the 1st fight? I personally think that Adesanya won. But hey… It was close. I think this fight is very very interesting, because Adesanya just lost to Jan Blachowicz, and the style that Jan used, was that suffocating wrestling style, and Vettori just beat Kevin Holland and Vettori used a suffocating wrestling style. It’ll give people something to ponder; Did Adesanya improve? Was Kevin Holland a good style matchup for Vettori before the Adesanya fight? I think all that is moot. I think this fight is going to depend on how solid Vettori’s chin is. This was such a big weekend for COMBAT IN TEXAS. very busy, super busy. There was XKO 50, There was Fury Fc 46, and there was UFC 262. So much excitement all at one time. Its kinda bad timing TBH. Jeeze… Let people digest one show at a time…They threw everything at us in one weekend.

Can you believe we did this without crowds? Is it too soon though? Should it have been 50% capacity, or how about a lower ticket price for a vaccinated spectators? – That would’ve been a great idea IMO. But…Capitalism…Lets go. The Main card was great. Lots of finishes and tons of talking points

Usman is a very very smart fighter, and Masvidal didnt respect that. Usman set up this KO by going for takedowns early. Masvidal had has hands low, waiting for the shot, and wasn’t quick enough to dodge the overhand right, and it seemed like Usman put his whole body into that punch. That punch kind of cooled off everything Masvidal was riding on. -The man went weirdly political for a while, after not wanting to go that route, and he kinda had to eat his words after he said that Usman doesnt punch hard. These things happen to you when you talk a lot. I want to see Usman vs Thompson next. So the UFC rolls on, fans will be back, and we get another PPV card that we really dont need IMO, Its just fulfilling some kind of contractual deal that the UFC has. I think it’s a matter of time before the UFC stops doing this, because Bellator is getting good, and if Bellator stays on this track, I think they’ll make people wonder why they’re buying UFC PPVs at all. I think the PPV maincard fights are good, everything else is either low level/unknown – That’s what the UFC usually does on PPVs, so they can give the big names “more money” and pay the undercard fighters peanuts. OK… these are tough to pick… I’m guessing the UFC put all the Chinese fighters that were supposed to be on the Chinese version of DWCS on this card. read more

I got this call wrong, very wrong, I thought that Stipe could wear him out and win with the wrestling, and the firefighter got a little wild and walked right into a left hook. I also thought that it was a HUGE mistake that Stipe came in a little lighter in this fight. If Stipe’s gameplan was to clinch, I think he would’ve came in heavier. Ngannou also got better, The low kicks were good, the sprawl was good, he was more efficient, and he wasn’t wild. Dare I say it? Ngannou was technical. OK so, Ngannou has several fights lined up. Next for the Cameroonian-French man should be Jon Jones, but if the UFC doesnt want to pay Jones, I could see them letting Ngannou fight Derrick Lewis, but Jones has a trump-card; maybe people dont want to see the Ngannou vs Lewis fight again. There is also a Stipe Miocic trilogy on the table for Ngannou, that Stipe Miocic 100% deserves read more
