LFA 85 Results

So the LFA stayed in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for LFA 85, and it was a fantastic show, I think it was the best show of the year. Cards like this need a live audience, but all in good time I guess. The pandemic can’t last forever, or can it? … Whatever… Great fights at LFA 85!!

Main event

Vanessa Demopoulos vs Sam Hughes – Strawweight

Round 1

Hughes comes out and puts together some great combinations and throws a lot of good leg kicks.

Round 2

Hughes turns it up, and gets Demopoulos down. Hughes then eats an illegal up-kick, the referee takes a point from Demopoulos. read more

What happened at UFC 261?

What happened at UFC 261?

Can you believe we did this without crowds? Is it too soon though? Should it have been 50% capacity, or how about a lower ticket price for a vaccinated spectators? – That would’ve been a great idea IMO. But…Capitalism…Lets go. The Main card was great. Lots of finishes and tons of talking points

Here are the picks I made

Kamaru Usman vs Jorge Masvidal

Usman is a very very smart fighter, and Masvidal didnt respect that. Usman set up this KO by going for takedowns early. Masvidal had has hands low, waiting for the shot, and wasn’t quick enough to dodge the overhand right, and it seemed like Usman put his whole body into that punch. That punch kind of cooled off everything Masvidal was riding on. -The man went weirdly political for a while, after not wanting to go that route, and he kinda had to eat his words after he said that Usman doesnt punch hard. These things happen to you when you talk a lot. I want to see Usman vs Thompson next. I have no idea where Masvidal goes after this. getting KOed after getting cocky is a hell of a thing… I got this pick wrong read more

UFC 261 Picks

UFC 261 Picks

So the UFC rolls on, fans will be back, and we get another PPV card that we really dont need IMO, Its just fulfilling some kind of contractual deal that the UFC has. I think it’s a matter of time before the UFC stops doing this, because Bellator is getting good, and if Bellator stays on this track, I think they’ll make people wonder why they’re buying UFC PPVs at all. I think the PPV maincard fights are good, everything else is either low level/unknown – That’s what the UFC usually does on PPVs, so they can give the big names “more money” and pay the undercard fighters peanuts. OK… these are tough to pick… I’m guessing the UFC put all the Chinese fighters that were supposed to be on the Chinese version of DWCS on this card. read more

I trashed the LFA for their last show and now I have to congratulate them for LFA 100. It was a fun night of of fights. The Commentary was FANTASTIC. Michael Chiesa is the man for the job, I want to hear him call fights full time. I just think he meshed well with Ron Kruck, and the two person booth is all the LFA should ever use

What was unBROKEN in 2019?

What was unBROKEN in 2019?

Jan. 12 At XKO 44. The Hooters girls were unbroken – I’m not really a horn-dog per se, but for some reason those Hooters girls at the show did something for me. Also The rap music mixed with Tejano was unbroken. – It was more of rap music mashed up with Tejano, I’ve never heard that before, and I was impressed.

Jan 18. At LFA 57 Taylor Johnson was unbroken – The man ran through Aaron Chambers. I was also a little surprised that he was stopped by Jiu Jitsu ace Andre Muniz on the Contender Series. Sometimes they let too savages fight each other on that show read more

LFA 59

The LFA rolled into The Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona for this one.

Main Event

David Michaud vs Christian Aguilera – Welterweight.

Round 1

Aguilera starts off looking to wrestle, as both guys look even on the feet. Michaud is able to drop Aguilera with a right, then he swarms him. Aguilera is defending himself, he gets put into a mounted Crucifix and the referee stops the fight.🚩 Michaud wins by TKO

This was a very early stoppage. Maybe the ref thinks that the fight is over when someone gets put into a mounted crucifix. I know Aguilera was intelligently defending himself, because he brought his feet up to the cage to push off and reverse the position, its just a shame that the referee wanted to be the star in this fight. read more
