XKO 45: Prelims and Blog Post
Check out the XKO 45 Main card
So XKO 45 took place on 4/27/19 and that was a fantastic show. The XKO events are always organized and seem to have an interesting feel to them. This show was in the new Texas Live complex which – I heard will be the biggest entertainment complex in the state of Texas. The square cage was outdoors, with shade from the building being constructed and natural light coming in – The humongous Dallas Cowboys stadium is just in the background. The fighters were local and very very very good. I was impressed with the production team. I was impressed with the pacing, I was impressed with the parking situation
LFA 64: Round by Round results
I usually love the LFA. Every time I watch a show they usually show me someone new and that is interesting, not today. This Sioux Falls, South Dakota show was a little disappointing. A lot of fighters at the local level definitely have what it takes to to fight at the next level, but the fighters on this particular card have to make massive improvements if they what to move up
Main Event
Demarques Jackson vs Harvey Park – Lightweight
Round 1
Park is so stiff, he’s just asking to get KOed. He fights a little bit like Justin Gaethje- anyway Park eats a few combos in the beginning. Park throws some kicks to create distance and then he rocks Jackson with a right hand. He puts Jackson on the ground and then he rains down punches. The referee stops it at the bell. 🚩 Park wins by TKO
What happened at UFC 236?
So I didnt think that UFC 236 would be that good and I got pleasantly surprised. I made some bad calls. But its all good, some of the calls that I made were absolutely sublime.
Dustin Poirier vs. Max Holloway
I thought that Max would be big enough to handle Poirier. I thought he would actually have some power at this weight class. Turns out that it takes a little bit of time to develop that power. He also fought a very dangerous game and he ate a lot of shots in this fight. I know that he wants to stay in this weight class, so he’s stuck in a weird limbo right now.
Why MMA is not a Sport
MMA is not a sport. Punching someone in the face is not something that is fun, and it is not a “sporting” thing to do. It is not fun for the person punching, and it is definitely not fun for the person getting punched. It is only fun for the individual watching all of this.
BJJ is a sport. Wrestling is a sport. Boxing is not a sport. An event cannot be a sport when your opponent is trying to change your life. Can you really call an activity a sport when you’re trying to hurt someone? MMA is not just about physical performance, it’s called “the hurt business” for a reason.
UFC 236 Picks
Max Holloway | vs | Dustin Poirier |
Holloway has the best footwork in the division. He is going to put the pressure on Poirier and get the TKO victory. I see him taking this in the championship rounds. I expect a lot of “sprawl and brawl” from Holloway
Kelvin Gastelum | vs. | Israel Adesanya |
Stylebender should win this one. It should be a boring affair for the casuals. It will go all five rounds. Adesanya has the reach, Gastelum has the chin.
Eryk Anders | vs. | Khalil Rountree Jr |
Anders has terrible technique, but has a hard head. I see Anders eating a lot of shots, but I don’t see him getting finished. Rountree should win this one easily

LFA 62: Round by Round results
OK. So you can check out what went down at the LFA 62 prelims here
Most People show up to the Bomb Factory right before the Main Card. All the roid monkeys, and the douchebags fade away, and only the fighters and the nerds are left in the crowd
Main event
Casey Kenney vs Vince Cachero – Bantamweight Championship
Round 1
Kenney starts off by feeling out his opponent. He hits him with some spinning techniques to the gut. Cachero is bouncing around and moving well but he does not respect Kenney’s ability to hurt him. Kenney hits Cachero with a reinforced knee and Knocks him out.
🚩 Kenney wins by KO
LFA 62: Blog and prelim results
A Blog Post.
So, this is my first LIVE event. Yes, I’ve never been to a live MMA event, and this is my first one. I feel like I’ve been watching MMA forever though. I watch boxing, I watch Muay Thai once in a while, I watch grappling competitions when I can, but I’ve never been to a live MMA event.
I went to Dallas to check out LFA 62. The venue was The Bomb factory, located in Deep Ellum close to all the bars and night clubs on a Friday night. After about 9 p.m. Traffic gets Jacked.
What is wrong with MMA referees?
Back in the day I remember when you didn’t know anything about boxing referees, they were nameless people who you cared nothing about. You knew when they were bad, you knew when they we’re good, but you didn’t care anything about their personality. Now, with MMA referees, you know the ones that are silly, you know the ones that are no-nonsense, and you know the ones that want to dance and sing for you. – The entertaining ref. I want them to have zero personality. I don’t want to know anything about them.
