LFA 64: Round by Round results

I usually love the LFA. Every time I watch a show they usually show me someone new and that is interesting, not today. This Sioux Falls, South Dakota show was a little disappointing. A lot of fighters at the local level definitely have what it takes to to fight at the next level, but the fighters on this particular card have to make massive improvements if they what to move up

Main Event

Demarques Jackson vs Harvey Park – Lightweight

Round 1

Park is so stiff, he’s just asking to get KOed. He fights a little bit like Justin Gaethje- anyway Park eats a few combos in the beginning. Park throws some kicks to create distance and then he rocks Jackson with a right hand. He puts Jackson on the ground and then he rains down punches. The referee stops it at the bell. 🚩 Park wins by TKO read more

What happened at UFC 236?

What happened at UFC 236?

So I didnt think that UFC 236 would be that good and I got pleasantly surprised. I made some bad calls. But its all good, some of the calls that I made were absolutely sublime.

Dustin Poirier vs. Max Holloway

I thought that Max would be big enough to handle Poirier. I thought he would actually have some power at this weight class. Turns out that it takes a little bit of time to develop that power. He also fought a very dangerous game and he ate a lot of shots in this fight. I know that he wants to stay in this weight class, so he’s stuck in a weird limbo right now. read more

Why MMA is not a Sport

Why MMA is not a Sport

MMA is not a sport. Punching someone in the face is not something that is fun, and it is not a “sporting” thing to do. It is not fun for the person punching, and it is definitely not fun for the person getting punched. It is only fun for the individual watching all of this.

BJJ is a sport. Wrestling is a sport. Boxing is not a sport. An event cannot be a sport when your opponent is trying to change your life. Can you really call an activity a sport when you’re trying to hurt someone? MMA is not just about physical performance, it’s called “the hurt business” for a reason. read more

UFC 236 Picks

UFC 236 Picks

What happened at UFC 236?

Max HollowayvsDustin Poirier

Holloway has the best footwork in the division. He is going to put the pressure on Poirier and get the TKO victory. I see him taking this in the championship rounds. I expect a lot of “sprawl and brawl” from Holloway

Kelvin Gastelum vs. Israel Adesanya

Stylebender should win this one. It should be a boring affair for the casuals. It will go all five rounds. Adesanya has the reach, Gastelum has the chin.

Eryk Andersvs.Khalil Rountree Jr

Anders has terrible technique, but has a hard head. I see Anders eating a lot of shots, but I don’t see him getting finished. Rountree should win this one easily read more

LFA 63: Round by Round Results

The LFA rolled into Belton, TX, just south of Temple to put on LFA 63. It was a fun card with a lot of wars. I was trying to watch The CES 55 event on Fight Pass, but my internet was going through some shit. I really wanted to see Jeremiah Wells. I saw on Twitter that he lost that fight due to a very, very very, very close decision. He’s a fantastic fighter. I didnt think he’d lose at all. Anyway – Back to Belton

Main Event

Justin Patterson vs Derrick Krantz – Welterweight

Round 1

Krantz keeps pulling Patterson into his power. Krantz has great footwork, and he seems to keep getting out of pressure traps that Patterson sets for him. Krantz blitzes Patterson and knocks him down. Krantz KOs Patterson as he tries to get up. An uppercut to knock him out, a straight left to baptize him. 🚩 Krantz wins by KO read more

A Blog Post.

So, this is my first LIVE event. Yes, I’ve never been to a live MMA event, and this is my first one. I feel like I’ve been watching MMA forever though. I watch boxing, I watch Muay Thai once in a while, I watch grappling competitions when I can, but I’ve never been to a live MMA event.

I went to Dallas to check out LFA 62. The venue was The Bomb factory, located in Deep Ellum close to all the bars and night clubs on a Friday night. After about 9 p.m. Traffic gets Jacked. read more

What is wrong with MMA referees?

Back in the day I remember when you didn’t know anything about boxing referees, they were nameless people who you cared nothing about. You knew when they were bad, you knew when they we’re good, but you didn’t care anything about their personality. Now, with MMA referees, you know the ones that are silly, you know the ones that are no-nonsense, and you know the ones that want to dance and sing for you. – The entertaining ref. I want them to have zero personality. I don’t want to know anything about them. read more
