Most People show up to the Bomb Factory right before the Main Card. All the roid monkeys, and the douchebags fade away, and only the fighters and the nerds are left in the crowd

Main event

Casey Kenney vs Vince Cachero – Bantamweight Championship

unbrokenMMA Casey Kenney vs Vince Cachero

Round 1

Kenney starts off by feeling out his opponent. He hits him with some spinning techniques to the gut. Cachero is bouncing around and moving well but he does not respect Kenney’s ability to hurt him. Kenney hits Cachero with a reinforced knee and Knocks him out.
🚩 Kenney wins by KO

Kenney looked like a predator in this fight. You could see the gears moving in his head as he thought “how can I hurt this man?” He was adjusting on the fly, and just looked like a wolf in this fight. Cachero looked good, but didnt have the same bad intentions that Kenney had. I will definitely be watching more Casey Kenney fights.

Ahmet Kayretli vs Levi Mowles – Bantamweight – Both missed weight

Round 1

Kayretli keeps ducking his head before he throws a strike. Mowles begins to wrestle and he takes down his opponent. He takes Kayretli’s back but cant seem to sink the choke in, so he beats him up on the floor.

Round 2

Kayretli rocks Mowles at the beginning of the round. Mowles recovers and realizes that Kayretli is ducking his head before throwing strikes. He rocks Kayretli with some kicks, and some knees come dangerously close too. Mowles clinches and beats up his opponent on the mat to end the round.

Round 3

Mowles takes Kayretli down, beats him up and then sinks in the RNC.
🚩 Mowles wins by submission

This was a 5 star performance by Levi Mowles. Kayretli is a very dangerous Muay Thai striker and Mowles neutralized him easily. His wrestling and his top game look legit, and he just looked like a balanced professional fighter. He is now the interim Bantamweight Champion and he is UFC ready

Ramiz Brahimaj vs Carlos Martinez

unbrokenMMA Ramiz Brahimaj vs Carlos Martinez

Round 1

Martinez comes out with his hands down for some reason, Brahimaj rocks him with an overhand right, slams him to the floor and chokes him out with a head and arm choke.
🚩 Brahimaj wins by submission.

Brahimaj is one of my favorite fighters to follow. He had an absolute war with Evan Cutts, and he ended up losing that fight. Evan Cutts is a bad-ass in his own right, and I think that Cutts is the best pound for pound fighter in the southwest. Anyway, this fight looked like a fight to pad Brahimaj’s record, because he fights at such a high level. Brahimaj has outstanding wrestling and Jiu Jitsu, but his hands need work, Geoff Neal is a stable mate of his at Fortis MMA, so hopefully Brahimaj can get with some people and get those hands poppin’ because he will be a MAJOR problem.

Cody Freeman vs Fernie Garcia – Bantamweight Freeman missed weight

Round 1

Garcia looks stiff, Freeman looks loose. I’m a little surprised because Garcia is fighting out of Fortis MMA, and they usually have a solid stand up game. Garcia shoots in and takes Freeman down. Freeman Neutralizes him and gets back to his feet. Freeman looks physically stronger.

Round 2

Garcia takes Freeman down and the ref stands the fighters up as Garcia was pounding on Freeman. Freeman clinches with Garcia and shows his strength. The round comes to an end. Read what I have to say about bullshit refs here

Round 3

Freeman realizes that he is stronger and goes for more take downs, and after 2 very close rounds, Freeman categorically wins this one
🚩 Freeman wins by split decision

Freeman looked strong. Garcia was tenacious and had good technique but Freeman out-muscled him on the floor. Is he this strong because he didnt deplete himself with the weight cut? (Freeman missed weight by 2 lbs). Freeman looked slick on the feet, but he was very inaccurate, and his in-and -out style needs accuracy. Garcia needs to take a dance class and loosen up more. He needs better footwork, and if he’s going to be this weak, he needs a better Jits game.

Valerie Soto vs Vanessa Demopoulos – 120 lbs

unbroken Valerie Soto vs Vanessa Demopoulos

Previous post about Valerie Soto at XKO 44

Round 1

Demopoulos starts off with her head on a Swivel. She has great footwork and she’s working the counter-punching game well. Soto is a little stiffer and a little more robotic in her movements. Soto eats a right hand and develops a classic shiner early.

Round 2

Soto wants to prove how strong she is, but Demopoulos lets her pay every time she tries to come on the inside. Demopoulos keeps her footwork going, and moves around very well.

Round 3

Soto dumps Demopoulos early in the round but does not want to go to ground with her. This tells me that the variety of Soto’s attacks are limited. Soto continues to eat straight punches to the face and Demopoulos continues to bounce around. Soto knocks down Demopoulos at the end of the round, but its too late. 🚩 Demopoulos wins by Majority decision.

Demopoulos has talked about being an exotic dancer, and she learned a valuable martial art while she was doing that – The Art of Movement. Demopoulos was moving her head, bouncing around and was elusive for most of the fight. Soto could not get close to her to clinch-up, as she loves to do. Demopoulos let Soto look a little lazy in this fight.

Austin Lingo vs Angel Cruz – 150 lbs

Round 1

Lingo starts off with some combos. Rocks Cruz. Cruz kisses the canvas. Lingo sinks in a tight rear naked choke, and chokes Cruz unconscious.
🚩 Lingo wins by Technical Submission.

This was not a test for Lingo. All we learned about him from this fight, is that he has great hand speed. He just moved through his opponent like a juggernaut. Unbeaten at 6-0 and fighting out of Fortis, Ill be looking to see much more of him.

Fun fights – I’ll be going to more events – I Hope to visit a local XKO event coming up. Look out for that
