LFA 103 took place in Shawnee, OK. The Promotion still has a limited crowd there. I actually expect the LFA to make the move down to Texas fairly soon. Texas is opened up, and the counties are the ones that blocking a lot of crowd gartherin’s. As the vaccination numbers go up, I expect the state to open up more. Jan. 10 I started off with an Unbroken Pick of Ode Osbourne over Brian Kelleher at UFC 246. That pick was indeed broken. It was a bad pick guys. poor

We’ve had a rough year for MMA in 2020. There are so many fighters that missed out on their development this year and I’m pretty sure a lot of fighters had to quit MMA, because of the pandemic, but hopefully a lot of real fighters still have that spark and continue to train and get better. Some people say that you should never have a plan B. – šŸ˜… I’m an advocate for plan Bs, and plan Cs and plan Qs, because you never know what life’s gonna throw at you, There is a vaccine now, and I’ve heard that its effective, so hopefully in 2021 we can all put this 2020 madness behind us. I dont know how the vaccine will work, but I’m hopeful. Just hopeful. read more

The LFA stayed in Park City Kansas for LFA 94. It was a good show, the Main Event was spectacular. Lupita Godinez beat Vanessa Demopoulos via unanimous decision to win the LFA Strawweight Championship

So LFA 93 Went down in Park City, Kansas. A good show. Not as good as I thought it was going to be though. I thought Sam Hughes was going to fight Cynthia Arceo, and for some reason I thought I’d get to see Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady. For the most part the show delivered. The LFA went with the live scoring option from the Kansas commission for the 2nd time… Live scoring… its…. OK. Its only useful if they think that the judges aren’t scoring the fights at the correct times. -If that is the case, I think the judges should submit their round by round results to a representative of the promotion, they dont have to show the scores to the corners. When they show the scores to the corners, It takes away some of the drama of the fight, its also gives some fighters an incentive to play it safe. Eh… that’s just my 2 cents. So the LFA stayed in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for LFA 85, and it was a fantastic show, I think it was the best show of the year. Cards like this need a live audience, but all in good time I guess. The pandemic can’t last forever, or can it? … Whatever… Great fights at LFA 85!!

Hughes comes out and puts together some great combinations and throws a lot of good leg kicks.

So LFA 81 took place in Costa Mesa, California. There were some good fighters there. King of the Cage always lends some good talent to LFA when they come into town.

Emmers follows Barbosa around the ring, and Barbosa does some circling/running and tries to catch Emmers with some punches.

So, I’ve seen a lot of fights in 2019. Ofcourse I havent seen everyone, but, I’ll go with the stuff I know. So here are my top 5 rankings, in weight divisions in Texas. Ofcourse, guys in larger organizations are excluded

Women

  • Courtney King
  • Hailey Cowan
  • Audrey Wolfe

Women have a tough time in the fight game in general. They may need to travel to get fights, They may need to move up and down in weight classes, and sometimes life just gets in the way. A lot of good female fighters in Texas never really move on from the Amateur scene. Id really like to put Sam Hughes on this list. She’s fought in Texas a couple of times, but she really is from the PNW. She’d be number 1 or 2 on this list. Demopoulos fights out of California, but she’s had several fights in Texas read more

Jan. 12 At XKO 44. The Hooters girls were unbroken – I’m not really a horn-dog per se, but for some reason those Hooters girls at the show did something for me. Also The rap music mixed with Tejano was unbroken. – It was more of rap music mashed up with Tejano, I’ve never heard that before, and I was impressed.

Jan 18. At LFA 57 Taylor Johnson was unbroken – The man ran through Aaron Chambers. I was also a little surprised that he was stopped by Jiu Jitsu ace Andre Muniz on the Contender Series. Sometimes they let too savages fight each other on that show read more
