UFC 246 Picks

So that pesky little Irishman rears his head. I dont really care. I dont care at all. Yeah, I watched him about five years ago, and I was invested then, but I’m not invested now. There are other fights at UFC 246 that I want to see, so he can just move on and sell whiskey or do whatever he does. Anyway, the stakes are ridiculous. So, if said Irishman were to win, he’d face Khabib –if he wins, at a lower weight class. It makes absolutely no sense. I think the UFC knows it makes no sense, but they’re willing to screw hardcore fans to appease the casual fans. Casual fans probably don’t even know what weight class McGregor fights at, so who cares?? This might as well just be a grudge match for that little verbal spat that they had at that press conference, a few years ago.

Conor McGregorvsDonald Cerrone

This one is a little tough to call, because McGregor hasn’t fought in a long time, and Cerrone has a very very common style. There are several people available that can easily mimic the Muay Thai style that Cerrone has -I love Muay Thai, but in a way, his style is too ridged for MMA. Cerrone never really threatens takedowns, and rarely ever gets into the clinch. That being said, I just don’t think that McGregor has been active enough, and I think Cerrone gets it done

Holly HolmvsRaquel Pennington

These are two older ladies here. I feel a little weird calling them “girls”. They’re experienced and have taken their knocks in this fighting game. I think the thing that separates these two, is heart. Holly Holm has tons of heart, and I believe Pennington is lacking in the heart department.

Anthony PettisvsDiego Ferreira

I dont know what Pettis is going to do in this fight. If he strikes with Ferreira, he loses, if he goes to the ground with Ferreira, he loses. The only way I see Pettis winning is if Ferreira injures himself in someway, like twisting his ankle on a kick, or breaking his hand. I say Ferreira by 2nd round submission

Maycee BarbervsRoxanne Modafferi

Maycee has been a juggernaut. This girl needs to be highly paid, because she. does. work. She finishes girls, and she brings violence. Modafferi is super tough, she’s stiff and herky-jerky, like an old Chevy. For some reason I see Maycee Barber finishing this fight on the ground

Andre FilivsSodiq Yussuf

This fight is a little tough to call, because Yussuf has been in “Kill or be Killed” mode for his last four fights, and Fili knows that he’s going to have face the storm. I dont think that Fili can deal with the storm

Nasrat HaqparastvsDrew Dober

At one time Haqparast and Gastelum looked the same, and fought the same, not anymore. They may look the same, but Haqparast has leveled up his game a lot. I think Haqparast is better than his doppelganger, and he maintains the same granite chin as Gastelum. I see Haqparast getting this one done

Alexey OleinikvsMaurice Greene

Greene will try to use his length, and Oleinik will try to take Greene’s head off while going in for the clinch. I dont think Greene has the power to stop the tank before it gets to him

Sabina MazovsJJ Aldrich

Coaching is so important in MMA. Both these girls have leveled up there game. Mazo was soft in the LFA, even though she won, and I still have that picture of her in my mind. Aldrich has been fantastic whenever she works with Pat Barry. If Aldrich has that same sort of work, and gets the coaching she needs, I see Aldrich getting the victory here

Tim Elliottvs Askar Askarov

Askarov should thank the judges for that draw they gave him over Moreno. I think he legitimately gets i done here though

Ode OsbournevsBrian Kelleher

Osbourne was one of the best fighters on Dana White’s Contender series, a lot of guys don’t know about him, so he can make a lot of people a lot of money. I think he picks up the win here. Check out Top Ten Contender Series stand outs of 2019

Aleksa CamurvsJustin Ledet

Camur was on The Contender Series, and I dont think that he lit the world on fire when he was on the show, but Ledet is very one dimensional, and I think Camur gets it done here Here’s his Contender Series rating

The Osbourne call will be unbroken at UFC 246
