MMA picks, information on the UFC, LFA and other organizations
The UFC is in Houston. Texas is open. We had the Biggest Boxing fight in USA history with Canelo vs Whathisname. Whatever…This is MMA…The closest thing to unarmed combat that we’re gonna get, and there’s no playing any games with pillows on your hands. Interesting card here. My prediction came true… I said that the Lightweight title would be magically up for grabs if Chandler and/or McGregor won. Well…Chandler won, and here we are. Hopefully none of these fights fall out
I remember when I used to want to watch Fury FC and I couldn’t, lol I remember watching Fury FC online, and I was watching fights that were streamed by Mike “The Truth” Jackson. Now Fury is on FightPass, The camera work is a little slow, but the production is a lot better and the talent is still very rich

We’ve had a rough year for MMA in 2020. There are so many fighters that missed out on their development this year and I’m pretty sure a lot of fighters had to quit MMA, because of the pandemic, but hopefully a lot of real fighters still have that spark and continue to train and get better. Some people say that you should never have a plan B. – 😅 I’m an advocate for plan Bs, and plan Cs and plan Qs, because you never know what life’s gonna throw at you, There is a vaccine now, and I’ve heard that its effective, so hopefully in 2021 we can all put this 2020 madness behind us. I dont know how the vaccine will work, but I’m hopeful. Just hopeful.
MMA in Texas is back! At 50% capacity, but that’s better than no capacity. I tuned in to Fury 43 broadcasting from Humble, TX. We got to hear the crowds scream at an event for the first time in a long time. And I think the UFC should think about coming to Texas. 50% ain’t too shabby. The fights… I didn’t think the pro fights were very good. The amateur fights showcased some upcoming talent. Anyway in the main event featured Nico Echeverry beating Edmilson Freitas for the Fury FC Lightweight title
So, I was thinking about heading to The Bomb Factory to watch some of these fights, but I’m glad I did not. I wasn’t stirred. The Judges were bad, but the Mixed Martial Arts was good.
Texas, Oh Texas, why are you so beautiful, yet so damn frustrating. I really think the Judges gave the fights to the favorites on the card. I dont think that they actually know what they’re looking at. Its complete garbage

OK, so I went to my very first Fury FC event. So I can say I’ve been to the big three Texas MMA promotions. Fury, XKO, and LFA. – If you want to count LFA. LFA is kinda like a national promotion right now. Anyway it was a cool experience, a very intimate venue on a rainy night in Duncanville, Texas
So I jumped in my truck, I didn’t even bother to take my DSLR to the venue. I just couldn’t bother with the hassle of trying to get it in. I navigated through all the Christmas traffic and went into the Fieldhouse parking lot, paid the $10 for parking and made my way to the venue – the Duncanville Fieldhouse – A high school basketball gym. The high school kids has a little canteen set up, and they were slinging hot-dogs left and right and even running out of food. I think they were competing with the food vendors inside the actual gym. Anyway, I bought my tickets for $50 and went inside. It was a little on the expensive side if you ask me. Come on guys, give me a code or something, so I can re-watch the fights on Fite.TV, if you’re gonna be charging that type of money.
OK, So fury FC 39 kicked off in Houston at the Bayou Event Center. The promotion has been putting on a lot of fights, they’ve been traveling, and they’ve been attracting a lot of talent. They will be in the DFW area soon, and I hope to go to the show, but there is sooooo much MMA in DFW at the moment. Anyway. Great fights. The “amateurs” on this card do work.

Rivera shoots in and Martinez jumps guillotine. Martinez eventually kicks his opponent off and gets up. Martinez drops Rivera twice and puts an unholy beatdown on him until the round ends. The fight really could’ve been stopped here.
XKO was at Texas Live! with 10 fights. The show was called XKO 47: Friday night fight night. I think Texas live is a definite upgrade to the Gas Monkey venue. The Arlington complex is a Sports play ground. Its just restaurants, drinks, and giant TVs, and they try to mix the outdoor with the indoor as best as they can. XKO is such a strong promotion. They dont use a lot of gimmicks, and they just put on good fights. They are not afraid of having an all female prelim card and a female main-card all in one night, bold, I love it
So I’ve been trying my best to see LFA 77, I’ve been trying to look at any video that I can of the event, but it’s just hard to find. I believe that they plan on releasing the event on some other platform, I will review that show, but I have no idea when.
The LFA postponed two of its following shows, so, I’m thinking that it will take at least a month for LFA to be broadcasted again. I dont want to see it on fightpass, simply because I think that the LFA would get lost in the sea of other promotions, and I think that the LFA should get broadcasted to a mass audience. Fox Sports, NBCSN and CBS should all look at the LFA.
Fury FC seems to be putting on a lot of fights. This one is “Fury FC 36”. They are traveling all over the region and just getting out there more. There is a lot of talent in South Texas, and the promotion also showcases a lot of talent from Louisiana and Colorado. Its just a little hard keeping up with the promotion, and to be honest I don’t think the talent justifies all the shows that are being put on.
