What happened at UFC 235?

UFC 235 was fantastic. The fights were entertaining, and my picks held up for the most part

Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith

Jon Jones dominated Smith. – This site is called unbroken MMA because there comes a time, when someone has you in the dirt, when you have no path to victory, when you know that winning is not an option, but you don’t give up. I like those moments in fighting, and I cherish them. Anthony Smith was BROKEN in this fight, not beaten, BROKEN. He got broken right after Jones threw a flying knee and busted his face up. He was willing to go out at anytime after that. Smith would not go the route of taking the DQ victory after being broken in that fight- to his credit. Jones then rewarded him by letting him lose via Unanimous decision. I picked Jones to finish Smith in the 2nd round, I don’t think I made a bad pick, because this was pure dominance read more

UFC 235 Picks

Jon JonesvsAnthony Smith

Jones should be able to dominate Anthony Smith in this fight. Smith is just not technical enough, and Jones is a technical beast right now. Round 2 stoppage, Jones wins.

Tyron Woodley vs. Kamaru Usman

This is one of the best fights of the year. This classic should be headling its own event. This fight makes this card unbroken. Tyron Woodley has the best Fight IQ in all of MMA. I expect that this bout will go the distance and Woodley will win by Unanimous decision

Robbie Lawlervs.Ben Askren

Ben Askren should take this one very easily. He should be able to neutralize Lawler for 3 rounds and win by Unanimous decision read more

LFA 61: Round by round results

LFA 61: Round by round results

The LFA was in Prior Lake, MN. The main card was a little bland, but learned about the fighters, and we saw what some of the local talent had to offer.

Main Event

Moses Murrietta vs Brendan Allen – Middleweight

Round 1

Allen comes out hard and takes Murrietta down. Murrietta looks like he’s out of ideas when he’s on his back, and Allen looks slow on top. At times Allen is just holding Murrietta down

Round 2

Murrietta comes out hard. Allen comes back with a combo of his own and then takes Murrietta down. Allen gets in full mount and begins to throw short shots, but he’s not doing a lot of work read more

LFA 60 kept it rolling, and the promotion stopped in Des Moines, Iowa, to take a look at some of the Local talent

Main Card

Julius Anglickas vs Clayton York – Light heavyweight

Round 1

York starts off by throwing leg kicks, and he looks good, he then goes in for a clinch, and he looks good, Anglickas reverses the position and York looks bad. York starts to close his guard, and Anglickas takes over.

Round 2

Anglickas rides York out on the ground, and it is obvious that York does not know the ground. Anglickas catches him as he’s getting up, and sinks in the rear naked choke.🚩 Anglickas wins by submission. read more

What happened at UFC 234?

What happened at UFC 234?

UFC 234 came and went. I’ll get into how the fights played out, whats next for them, and how I did on my picks.

Kelvin Gastelum vs Robert Whittaker

Oh, the fight that didnt happen. I am a little bit happy, because I made a bold prediction, picking Gastelum. Whittaker is a very smart fighter and his hit and run style could’ve beat Gastelum. I still love Gastelum’s chin though, which is his best weapon, and I think that he can beat Whittaker more easily now, knowing his injury. Can you say, push-kick to the gut?

Israel Adesanya vs Anderson Silva

This fight didnt end the way I thought it would, and I’m happy it did not end the way I thought it would. What we saw was a modern day Kung fu fight, and it was delightful. We really needed to see these guys for five rounds, but it seems as if the MMA Gods hate Australia. Adesanya will dismantle Gastelum if he faces him, and as for Anderson Silva, I see he’s still playing with his consciousness by intentionally taking shorts to the head. read more

UFC 234 Picks

MiddleweightRobert Whittacker (c)vs.Kelvin Gastelum
Sure Whittaker is krafty, and he’ll try to hit and run, but Gastelum has a solid chin and will look to get in close. I see him sinking in the RNC in the championship rounds
MiddleweightIsrael Adesanyavs.Anderson Silva
Style bender will showcase how much speed kills. Silva is old and passed. A changing of the guard type fight. Adesanya wins by Rd. 2 stoppage

LFA 59

The LFA rolled into The Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona for this one.

Main Event

David Michaud vs Christian Aguilera – Welterweight.

Round 1

Aguilera starts off looking to wrestle, as both guys look even on the feet. Michaud is able to drop Aguilera with a right, then he swarms him. Aguilera is defending himself, he gets put into a mounted Crucifix and the referee stops the fight.🚩 Michaud wins by TKO

This was a very early stoppage. Maybe the ref thinks that the fight is over when someone gets put into a mounted crucifix. I know Aguilera was intelligently defending himself, because he brought his feet up to the cage to push off and reverse the position, its just a shame that the referee wanted to be the star in this fight. read more

LFA 58: Round by Round results

The LFA rolled into Albuquerque, New Mexico and I watched some fights and checked out some of the talent coming through.

Main Event

Jaleel Willis vs Harvey Park – Lightweight

Round 1

Willis clinches immediately. Park is able to break the clinch, and the two have a feeling out patch. Park has very poor head movement, and for some reason Willis is looking to take him down. Willis looks like he’s fighting scared- a lot of unsure movements and backing off. Park eventually rocks Willis, which sits him down. Park throws an illegal knee to a grounded opponent, the knee glances off Willis’ head, and Park finishes him with punches.🚩 Park wins by TKO read more

XKO 44

XKO 44: “All in” Round by round results

XKO 44

XKO 44 took place at Gas Monkey Live in Dallas, Texas, and they played on the gambling theme all night. “Vegas style” fights took place, and there were both Muay Thai and MMA fights on the card.

I missed some of the Amateur fights, but I caught a couple of good ones before they moved to the main card

Muay Thai

Tracey Thompson vs Turbo

Round 1

Both guys look tentative and both started with their hands down. Not very skillful from either guy, and I can picture both of them getting fucked up by a 15 year old in Lumpinee Stadium. The fight seems like a “Muay Thai fight for MMA” and I feel a little bit better watching it, once I figure out what it is. read more
