The LFA stayed in Park City Kansas for LFA 94. It was a good show, the Main Event was spectacular. Lupita Godinez beat Vanessa Demopoulos via unanimous decision to win the LFA Strawweight Championship
Main Event
Lupita Godinez vs Vanessa Demopoulos – Strawweight
Round 1
Godinez is piecing up Demopoulos on the feet
Round 2
Godinez is just categorically beating up Demopoulos
Round 3
Demopoulos comes back and somehow wins this round
Round 4
Madness, Demopoulos gets nailed with some big shots, but somehow, I think she won this round
Round 5
Madness 🚩Godinez wins by Majority decision
This fight is so hard to describe, because it was filled with so much chaos. This was a war, in every sense of the word. Demopoulos came out of this one in the worse shape, and I think she left a little bit of herself in that cage. Demopoulos lacks power, footwork, head movement, and she just plain out eats shots, but she ONLY fights killers, and she has one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever seen if female combat. She takes no easy fights. I actually wish that the LFA would throw her a softball to get back on track. Lupita Godinez is UFC ready, she lacks footwork and is just a tad stiff on the feet, but the girl is strong and hits like a truck. This is world-class MMA at LFA 94
Joe Giannetti vs Aaron McKenzie – Lightweight
Round 1
Giannetti beats up McKenzie and jumps guillotine, McKenzie is able to get out of it and Giannetti goes for several submissions off his back, but cant lock anything up.
Round 2
McKenzie gets on top
Round 3
They roll around, McKenzie has the better of the positions.🚩 McKenzie wins by unanimous decision
Giannetti is better on the feet, Giannetti is better on the ground, So why did McKenzie win? He is stronger. Plain and simple, McKenzie was just plain-dumb stronger. Giannetti couldn’t hold McKenzie down, and Giannetti couldn’t do anything while McKenzie was on top. I wonder if Giannetti should consider going up a weight class to gain some strength. BTW I only see a lot of holes in McKenzie’s game at Lightweight
Chase Gibson vs Thai Clark – Featherweight
Round 1
Clark throws some leg kicks and clinches. Gibson is able to get a takedown and takes the back and locks up a body triangle. Gibson goes for an armbar and Clark is able to get out of it and lands some ground and pound as the round ends.
Round 2
Gibson eats some low kicks and shoots and gets a D’arce. He locks it up, and Clark goes a little limp. There is no tap, and I’m not sure if Clark goes unconscious, but the referee stops the fight. 🚩Gibson wins by submission.
The optics kinda looked bad for Clark. It looked like he was out, his leg was in an awkward position and he wasn’t moving for a while, but he couldve still been conscious. The ref probably should’ve got in there and looked for a few more signs before he waved the fight off. I think Clark gassed a little bit after he was put in the body triangle, I would like to see Clark add more Jiu Jitsu to his game. Gibson was OK, middle of the road. Gibson has some holes in his game.
Ryan Hayes vs Fernie Garcia – Bantamweight
Round 1
Hayes is throwing leg kicks and Garcia blitzes with combos
Round 2
Hayes is just hammering Garcia’s lead leg and Garcia continues to blitz with combos
Round 3
Hayes gets 2 takedowns, and we see more of the same leg kicks and combos.🚩 Garcia wins by split decision
Both these guys look a little one dimensional. Hayes is just throwing kicks and looking for the takedown, and Garcia is just throwing hands and getting his leg blasted. I know that Garcia likes to strike, but I’d like to see him let his opponents worry about something else. Get in close for an elbow, go for a takedown, go to the body. Hayes beat up Garcia’s leg so bad in this fight, that he didn’t have the same mobility he had going into the 3rd round.
Ozzy Diaz vs Logan Woods – Middleweight
Round 1
They both move around pretty similarly. Both are a little slow. Woods drops his hands and Diaz drops him with a right and pounds him out. 🚩Diaz wins by KO
Lumbering, slow guys. I think either one of these guys couldve got this result. The fates just chose Diaz.
Miles Amos vs Jalin Fuller – Middleweight
Round 1
Amos wrestles and is only looking to wrestle. Fuller throws very lazy strikes when they break
Round 2
Amos continues to wrestle, and Fuller separates and lands some knees
Round 3
Amos continues with his lazy wrestling, and Fuller catches him in a front choke, he sits down on it and gets the tap.
Amos looked awful IMO He didnt even really try to strike, lay and pray, wall and stall was all he did. Fuller doesn’t look fantastic either, but he had the wherewithal to lock up a tight choke.
Vanessa Demopoulos was unbroken in the her loss at LFA 94
