LFA 100 Results

I trashed the LFA for their last show and now I have to congratulate them for LFA 100. It was a fun night of of fights. The Commentary was FANTASTIC. Michael Chiesa is the man for the job, I want to hear him call fights full time. I just think he meshed well with Ron Kruck, and the two person booth is all the LFA should ever use

Altamirano throws good kicks. Smith is looking a little immobile

Smith is just not moving his feet and Altamirano is just touching him up

Round 5

Altamirano cruising, 🚩Altamirano wins by unanimous decision.

Nate Smith took this fight on six days notice, and it was evident, because the man didn’t look very good. He was super flat, and his body looked heavy. I didn’t recognize him from his contender series fight, and I thought he performed well on that show even though he lost. Altamirano is awkward and accurate, and with that awkwardness he makes some mistakes, but no one has been able to really punish him for it. Altamirano doesn’t have KO power, but his volume is tremendous, and he has a good on the feet work-rate, When he’s off the feet, he ca get stuck on his back a lot, he defends well and throws up submissions and strikes off his back, but he can never seem to stand up or reverse position. He is absolutely growing as a fighter, his wrestling has massively improved, and he continues to add a lot of tools to his tool box. Its actually a shame that we didn’t get to see Altamirano vs Carlos Mota. OK… Altamirano still might need a little more polishing, but I think he’s ready for the UFC. His striking is exciting, and if he continues to get better on the ground, I can see him having a good run in the UFC

Charles Johnson vs Karlee Pangilinan -Flyweight

Round 1

Push kicks from Johnson. Johnson has his hands down, and he gets his chin checked a few times by Pangilinan

Round 2

They’re swinging, Pangilinan gets in close and Johnson recovers and slaps on an anaconda choke. 🚩Charles Johnson wins by submission

So many holes, so many holes, both of them! Pangilinan is just looking for the Knockout, nothing else. Johnson fights with his hands down, and rarely moves his head. I bet they both have very exciting fights… but they have a lot to improve on IMO

Steven Nguyen vs Jorge Juarez – Featherweight

Round 1

Nguyen comes out throws a leg kick and slumps Juarez with a right cross. Juarez, face down, out cold.🚩 Nguyen wins by KO

You barely learn anything about fighters with fights like these. Of the little that I saw from Nguyen, his footwork looked a little off. HEY! but this fight lasted 20 secs. Its so hard to judge anything. lol I’ll be looking to see more from Nguyen. Here is his rating on his stint on the Contender Series. I’m really curious to see if Nguyen fixed his robotic style that he had on the Contender Series

Tommy Aaron vs Gerald Scott – Lightweight

Round 1

Kicks galore from Aaron. Aaron is bouncy and doesnt want to throw hands

Round 2

Scott gets into psycho mode and decides to eat some punches on purpose and come forward. Madness with Aaron landing big shots and Scott eating them

Round 3

Aaron gets a takedown and throws some big elbows. Aaron is able to take the back and finish with the RNC. 🚩Aaron wins by submission

Aaron trains with Tony Ferguson and fights a lot like Tony Ferguson, except he’s not very confident in his hands. Scott, I wish Scott was more technical, because he’s tough, and when tough guys are technical they are hard to beat. Aaron looks like he has good cardio, its very interesting to see how he’ll develop

Christian Natividad vs Evan Woolsey – Bantamweight

Round 1

Woolsey is looking crisp on the feet and beating Natividad. The Hawaiian dives in and gets the takedown and beats up Woolsey on the floor

Round 2

Woolsey has a little more success on the feet, and Natividad takes him down. The referee stands them up for some strange reason

Round 3

Woolsey takes a good shot and throws good kicks. Natividad takes him down and beats him up. 🚩Natividad wins by unanimous decision

Natividad looked good. He looked mature, economical and very professional. Natividad will only get better from this fight. Woolsey looked good as well, his ground game is not that great, but his hands are very good, If Woolsey kept this fight standing, I think he’d have a good chance of taking this fight. I’ll be look at Natividad a lot more
