ALL CONTENDER SERIES 2019 GRADES
So, the show is all about finding talent, but sometimes they just want to find personalities… Eh, that’s how it goes I guess. Capitalism is not a meritocracy, the winners are who ever brings in the most money.
Anyway there are a couple of fights I’m looking forward to seeing. I really want to see Leon Shahbazyan – I don’t know too much about him, but I’ve heard he’s a wizz on the ground. I’m also looking forward to see Kailan Hill. Now Hill is a take your head off destroyer – I’ve seen him tear things up in LFA. He throws wild stuff, and he’s very thick and powerful. He’s fighting Impa Kasanganay. It kinda looks like Dana gave Hill a layup in this one, but we’ll see
Anyway, Here are grades of some of the talent on the show. These grades are only based on their Contender Series performance, and not their performance before in other organizations
Omar Morales, Herbert Burns, André Muniz, Brok Weaver, Sarah Alpar and Tony Gravely all got contracts. William Knight was signed to a development league contract.
Contender Series Week 7 and 8
Summary
- Both Perrin and Joseph need a lot of work
- Muniz was able to show a very impressive Jiu Jitsu game and let Johnson look average. I was very impressed
- Burns went full Jiu Jitsu. Minner should’ve tried to beat him on the feet
- Ria and Santos were disappointing, especially Santos
- Morales was able to stop the zombie known as Harvey Park (Park stopped himself after hurting his leg – really)
- Reed is very disappointing and only fights defensively
- Gravely showed great skills and his fantastic wrestling chops. Big up to fellow Texan Ray Rodriguez for a good showing
- Young likes to eat punches. Alpar probably does need to drop a weight class, or she’ll get chewed up
- Weaver got a contract for his personality
- Knight won that fight on all heart. Someone bring this man to a good gym and get him some real solid training for about 6 months.
