Fury FC 32 was in Humble, TX – a suburb of Houston. They had great amateurs and good pro fights. The promotion is starting to travel all around the Southwest and is gaining a lot of popularity.
Pineda takes Trujillo down, beats the hell out of him and rides him around the ring to get the TKO victory. 🚩Pineda wins by TKO
Pineda knew exactly what what he was doing. This was a world-class professional ground beating. Pineda easily transitioned from RNC to Arm-triangle, to hell-bows. He’s needs high level fights at high level organizations.read more
Obligatory UFC event. Kinda like a TUF manufactured event. I never watch TUF. Dont know anything about it. I dont need to personally get to know a fighter to like how they fight, or want to see them fight. Volk takes on Ortega.
Alexander Volkanovski
vs
Brian Ortega
Ok, So its been a while since Volkanovski defended his belt. But here we are. I think that Volkanovski knows that Max Holloway beat him in their last fight, and he’ll be better. I just think Volk is more technical, and I think if it goes to the ground, Volk has good enough wrestling to get out of itread more
I got this one very wrong. Vettori had the chin, but he didnt have the wrestling nor the Jiu Jitsu technique to get the job done. He had good moments, but his ground game wasnt good enough to capitalize on those good moments. I just thought that he’d be a little better
Brandon Moreno vs Deiveson Figueiredo
Great fight while it lasted. Moreno is good. Do you know who game Moreno some trouble? Brandon Royval – before his shoulder popped out during the fight. Maybe the Colorado man can work his way back upread more
Where do I start? Ok… So who won the 1st fight? I personally think that Adesanya won. But hey… It was close. I think this fight is very very interesting, because Adesanya just lost to Jan Blachowicz, and the style that Jan used, was that suffocating wrestling style, and Vettori just beat Kevin Holland and Vettori used a suffocating wrestling style. It’ll give people something to ponder; Did Adesanya improve? Was Kevin Holland a good style matchup for Vettori before the Adesanya fight? I think all that is moot. I think this fight is going to depend on how solid Vettori’s chin is. I think Adesanya is bigger than Kevin Holland, and has better takedown defense than Holland, but I just think that Vettori will be able to eat some shots and put hands on Adesanya. And new read more
The LFA stayed in Park City Kansas for LFA 94. It was a good show, the Main Event was spectacular. Lupita Godinez beat Vanessa Demopoulos via unanimous decision to win the LFA Strawweight Championship
I’m not thrilled about this UFC 248. You know what? It kinda seems like a fight night card. This one to me kinda feels like a UFC XXX money grab, but that’s what they do now. Bellator needs a ranking system so people can keep up with what’s in the mix, and the LFA needs a bigger platform, and it needs to differentiate itself from all of the other smaller promotions. -Those are the two biggest US competitors, with the UFC IMO.
Anyway….
Israel Adesanya
vs
Yoel Romero
OK, so Yoel Romero is NOT a worthy challenger. Of course he’s good, he’s tough, He’s a physical specimen, but he lost his last two fights. Losing gets you a title shot? Jeeze-louise, I mean, at least feed him a lower ranked guy and let him get a win before challenging for the title. I think this fight came around because of Joe Rogan. Rogan has certain UFC perks, and one of them is calling for fights that he wants to see, on his big platform. I think this is what happened here. OK, since I have no power, no say, and I have to accept that this fight is going to happen, here’s how it’s going to go: Adesanya will beat the hell out of Yoel Romero. From Round 2 – onwards, Adesanya will out-strike Romero and batter him and he will make it look easy. Now Romero is super tough, so he might not get finished, but, he will get his ass worked. In the end it will be a comprehensive victory for Adesanya. Why is this going to happen? Mobility, Adesanya has it and Romero does not. Its just a bad matchup for Romero, again, NOT a worthy title challengerread more
OK, so the atmosphere was fire. The name recognition was there, and the fights were good. I think it was a successful UFC. Tough guys were 0 for 4 on this card, and boy, were my picks wrong 🙁 worst of the year
Tough guy no. 4 The fight started out like I thought it would, it didn’t end like I thought it would, but, I think all that is academical. Masvidal was going to beat Nate Diaz to a bloody pulp, and if they fight in Vegas, for a rematch, gamebred would paint the canvas red with Nate’s blood. I think Masvidal wants the fight, because its a very easy paycheck for him. That is all. This was my unbroken pick, and I missed the round call, but eh… it wasn’t bad.read more
Stacked card here. Now this is a real UFC XXX event. UFC 244 brings it
Jorge Masvidal
vs
Nate Diaz
So the BMF title is not a real belt, but it’s even more important than a real belt. The winner of it can call his shot. The winner can move up or down in any weight-class and challenge who ever he wants. There is enormous clout here. Other fighters will want to fight the BMF champion and take his title from him. It is real, but then again, not real. I think the pick is cut and dry here. Jorge Masvidal will dominate Nate Diaz, I foresee a 2nd round finish, I really want to say 1st round, but Diaz is known for his toughnessread more
I’m pretty excited about this card. I think it’s because I feel like I know what’s going to happen. So be sure to empty your bank accounts, and get on a shady gambling site and ruin your lives. 😊 Great fights here too
Daniel Cormier
vs
Stipe Miocic
Stipe will try to stay on the outside, and try to wear out Cormier in the clinch. I think this goes all 5 rounds and I think the firefighter will take it.
Nate Diaz
vs
Anthony Pettis
This one is a little hard to predict, since Diaz has been out for so long. Diaz doesn’t fight with his hands down like Wonderboy, so there’s that…and I also think that Pettis doesn’t have the juice anymore. We’ll get to see if Diaz still has the pace and the stamina that he’s known forread more
