UFC 242 Picks

So, you’d think that an Abu Dhabi card would be stacked. You’d think that every fighter and the mother, would want to get on that card, so they could tell all their friends and family that they fought in Abu Dhabi. It looks so good on a fighter’s resume, doesn’t it? I think the card is a little bland and I’m actually more intrigued by the ESPN Vancouver card.

Khabib NurmagomedovvsDustin Poirier

Its a big surprise that I pick Khabib, huh? I think Poirier is a good challenger, and I think he’s very strong at 155, but I just don’t think he has what it takes to deal with the wrestling. In my opinion Ferguson should be fighting for the tittle anyway.

Paul FeldervsEdson Barboza

Can we just turn this into a full Muay Thai fight with Muay Thai rules please? pretty please….anyway, I think that Barboza has better Muay Thai. That’s about it

Islam MakhachevvsDavi Ramos

So wrestlers are usually afraid of going to ground with Jiu Jitsu players, because the might get caught, and Jiu Jitsu guys usually have problems getting the wrestlers to the ground. So what happens? They stand and bang baby! 😊Hopefully it turns out that way. I think Makhachev has a better stand up game

Curtis BlaydesvsShamil Abdulrakhimov

Blaydes has got to get this to the floor, and I think that’s what he’ll do here

Mairbek TaisumovvsDiego Ferreira

This fight is a little hard to predict because Taisumov doesn’t fight a lot, but Ferreira has world class Jiu Jitsu, and he has leveled up his striking game in Dallas at Fortis MMA

Joanne CalderwoodvsAndrea Lee

Can we have a Muay Thai fight UFC. Please! Full Muay Thai rules…I believe Andrea Lee has better Muay Thai

Zubaira TukhugovvsLerone Murphy

This is a hard pick. Tukhugov hasn’t fought in a while. Lerone Murphy is making his debut. I’m just going to have to go with my Jamaican brother on this one

Sarah MorasvsLiana Jojua

This pick is more a pick against Sarah Moras, rather than for JoJua. The truth is, I don’t know anything about JoJua. I do know that Moras is very soft

Teemu PackalenvsOttman Azaitar

Packalen has had a rough time of it in the UFC, and I think its going to be compounded when he loses to the debuting fighter. Although Azaitar is coming in from a smaller organization, I think he’s fought tougher opponents

Belal MuhammadvsTakashi Sato

Belal Muhammad bangs, and he proved me wrong in my last pick against him, and showed that he does have a wrestling game. He shouldn’t take Sato lightly, but I think he’ll pick up the win here

Nordine TalebvsMuslim Salikhov

Taleb should be able to beat Salikhov here

Zak CummingsvsOmari Akhmedov

I think Cummings is built for fights like these. Akhmedov is tough, but I think that Cummings will get a finish here

Don MadgevsFares Ziam

From what I saw from Madge in his last fight, he’s very fundamentally sound, and he has real, classic Muay Thai. I don’t know anything about Fares Ziam

These picks are some of the toughest I’ve done all year. A lot of debuts

The Belal Muhammad pick will be unbroken
