UFC 256 Picks

I feel like I’ve done these picks before. I guess the UFC is coming fast a furious with the PPV cards. Figgy will be making a quick turnaround and fight Moreno -who is also making a quick turnaround. I like this card, much better than the previous PPV card. The UFC is obviously anticipating some COVID-19 cancellations, maybe this is the reason why this is a 14 fight show

Deiveson FigueiredovsBrandon Moreno

Deus Da Guerra is so mean. Everything about this guy is bad intentions. Brandon Moreno is also very talented, but I just think that Figueiredo hits harder

Tony FergusonvsCharles Oliveira

Both these guys actually have very similar styles. I like Tony Ferguson just a little more here.

Mackenzie DernvsVirna Jandiroba

Jiu Jitsu? or will they stand and bang? I think Jiu Jitsu

Kevin HollandvsRonaldo Souza

This is such an oddball fight. The UFC is rewarding Kevin Holland for staying busy this year, and they’re giving him great fights. Holland is such a wild card, his style is so loose, that Its like he could get a KO or get dominated himself. I see Jacare Souza getting the sub here. One ting to remember is that Kevin Holland has had shoulder dislocations, I just thought it might be helpful to know that.

Junior dos SantosvsCiryl Gane

Great fight.Very exciting, worthy of the PPV. I see Gane getting the win here. I’m just curious to see if dos Santos can last all 3 rounds

Cub SwansonvsDaniel Pineda

Pineda could finish this one on the feet or on the ground, either way, I see a finish. I dont think Cub has much for The Pit

Renato MoicanovsRafael Fiziev

I think Fiziev is more technical in the stand up than Moicano, If Moicano wants to win he may have to take it to the ground

Billy QuarantillovsGavin Tucker

I’ve never been high on Billy Q. I’ve always just considered him a run-of-the-mill featherweight, but one this that Billy Q has got, is a fantastic gas tank. He’s got a good gas tank, and a very good chin, and sure, the chin goes after a while, but I think Billy is in a purple patch right now. Tucker is very wrestle-heavy and I think that is to his detriment

Tecia TorresvsSam Hughes

Sam Hughes is tough, smart and well rounded. I think she wins this one here. The only reservation I have is that Sam Hughes cut 17 lbs in 5 days. I’ve been following Sam since her 2nd pro fight. Check out her reviews here

Chase HoopervsPeter Barrett

I’m not a fan of either of these guys. I dont think Chase Hooper should be in the UFC, and I’m curious if he can actually throw a punch now.

Dwight GrantvsJingliang Li

This is a pretty good fight. Li has a lot of power, Grant does well with range. I think there is a path to victory here for Grant, but I like Jingliang Li here

Tecia TorresvsAngela Hill

I dont care too much about this fight. I think Torres gets it done

Karl RobertsonvsDalcha Lungiambula

Dalcha is very explosive and he’s your classic muscular tank fighter that gasses out after 1.5 rounds. If Robertson fights smart he should be able to get the victory here. I see Robertson getting it done by submission

Sergey SpivakvsJared Vanderaa

Jared Vanderaa eats a lot of shots. A LOT, but he has a steel chin, and he uses his chin to get inside and land a big shot, or get the takedown. I think Vanderaa will be extra motivated because he actually called out Spivak. Spivak either has to submit Vanderaa or outlast him, but I dont see Spivak knocking him out

Andrea LeevsGillian Robertson

If this were a few years ago, Id say that Andrea Lee would be a no-brainer here, I’d also say that Andrea Lee would be gearing up to challenge Valentina for her title, but this is not a few years ago. Andrea Lee has gone from bad to worse over her UFC career. Maybe she can find it again… Maybe not. Robertson isnt that great of a fighter either, but I know what to expect from her

The Daniel Pineda call will be unbroken
