They did a great job of taking the Tuesday out of that Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, because it wasn’t held on a Tuesday for week 8. I guess that they wanted to get around that pesky presidential garbage. Anyway, there were a lot of mismatches on week 8. On week 9 there were a lot more even contests
Fighters that got contracts were:
Jared Vanderaa, Luis Saldana, Ignacio Bahamondes, Carlos Ulberg, Luana Pinheiro, Nikolas Motta and Natan Levy
Here are grades of the talent on the show. These grades are only based on their Contender Series performance, and not their performance before, in other organizations.
2.9
Summary
- Vanderra displayed what he’s know for, his chin. Hunsucker gassed
- Saldana is very technical, but Murdock was small and apprehensive
- Bahamondes had a highlight reel KO, but Gomez was slow, fat, and gassed out
- Bruno Oliveira was doing well until he got reckless, and Ulberg punished him
- Sabatello just wrestled and Moore could do absolutely nothing
- Pinheiro lulled Frausto to sleep and then blitzed her
- Nikolas Motta and Lowry had a banger, but Motta was a little too tense and had some gas tank issues….Maybe held his had too high sometimes… I believe in MMA, there are times when you have to relax and drop your hands down a little bit to conserve energy
- Levy faced a tough Shaheen Santana, Levy’s endurance is fantastic and he’s an average striker at best, he makes up for his striking in other ways
- I believe Sousa and Ksiazkiewicz should’ve ended in a draw. Both are a little sloppy and very very even
