UFC 248 Picks

So here is what actually happened.

I’m not thrilled about this UFC 248. You know what? It kinda seems like a fight night card. This one to me kinda feels like a UFC XXX money grab, but that’s what they do now. Bellator needs a ranking system so people can keep up with what’s in the mix, and the LFA needs a bigger platform, and it needs to differentiate itself from all of the other smaller promotions. -Those are the two biggest US competitors, with the UFC IMO.

Anyway….

Israel AdesanyavsYoel Romero

OK, so Yoel Romero is NOT a worthy challenger. Of course he’s good, he’s tough, He’s a physical specimen, but he lost his last two fights. Losing gets you a title shot? Jeeze-louise, I mean, at least feed him a lower ranked guy and let him get a win before challenging for the title. I think this fight came around because of Joe Rogan. Rogan has certain UFC perks, and one of them is calling for fights that he wants to see, on his big platform. I think this is what happened here. OK, since I have no power, no say, and I have to accept that this fight is going to happen, here’s how it’s going to go: Adesanya will beat the hell out of Yoel Romero. From Round 2 – onwards, Adesanya will out-strike Romero and batter him and he will make it look easy. Now Romero is super tough, so he might not get finished, but, he will get his ass worked. In the end it will be a comprehensive victory for Adesanya. Why is this going to happen? Mobility, Adesanya has it and Romero does not. Its just a bad matchup for Romero, again, NOT a worthy title challenger

Weili ZhangvsJoanna Jedrzejczyk

OK, So Joanna is a worthy title challenger. She has that win over Waterson, and she’s here to try to get her belt back. -I like Joanna, I like her a lot, but not just her style, (I think she has the best takedown defense in all of the UFC), I also like her personality. She’s as close to a female douche-bag as you’re gonna get, but she’s also sweet and respectful -when it suits her. OK now to the fight… I think it will be a good fight, but I think Joanna knows Zhang style. Zhang looks like she has a clinch heavy Muay Thai style, and I think that Joanna is ready for it. I just think that Joanna’s Dutch style Muay Thai and UFC experience gives her this win

Beneil DariushvsDrakkar Klose

Dariush is a veteran test. He’s smart, he’s savvy. he usually has a game plan, and he capitalizes on mistakes. Dariush is just well-rounded and knows how to get it done. Klose on the other hand, is savvy as well, but his savvy-ness comes with an extra dash of toughness

Neil MagnyvsJingliang Li

Magny is very experienced. Jingliang, is definitely in the mix at 170. I just think Li gets it done here. BTW I knew USADA was doing a lot of bullshit when the busted Neil Magny for some “advese finding”. I didn’t even have to read that story to know that it wasn’t true. Anyway Li just looks more powerful to me here.

Jose Alberto QuinonesvsSean O’Malley

Speaking of USADA, O’Malley is back, and he’s been struggling with that weird pulsing thing that happens sometimes. I believe him that he is clean, the same way I believe that Nate Diaz is clean, the same way that I believe Jon Jones is clean. Its all tainted supplements. –Maybe in Jones’ case, tainted cocaine. -But you get my drift. Its all tainted stuff. Anyway, I dont know what to expect for O’Malley, he’s been out for two years, his body will have changed a little bit. I think he gets it done, but do not bet on this fight.

Alex OliveiravsMax Griffin

I always confuse Max Griffin with Brandon Davis, and Davis just got cut by the UFC, so it tells you what I think about Max Griffin. I see Oliveira getting the finish here

Rodolfo VieiravsSaparbeg Safarov

Vieira is a BJJ whiz and for some reason, I cant remember anything about Safarov. He must not have been impressive before. I see Vieira getting the finish here

Mark MadsenvsAustin Hubbard

I dont know what to expect here. Madsen is an Olympic wrestler, and will be looking to grind out Hubbard. I watch a lot of LFA and I cant remember any of his fights there.

Emily WhitmirevsPolyana Viana

At 4-3 right now, I’m sure that Whitmire is fighting hard to keep that record from looking bad. I think that she’ll be able to beat Polyana Viana here

Guido CannettivsDanaa Batgerel

This is a very very good fight. Cannetti is tough, but so is “Batgirl“. Cannetti is just a little more technical, Batgerel has that reckless chinese style that either cooks his food or burns his house down, I like Cannetti here

Giga ChikadzevsJamal Emmers

Emmers deserves to be in the UFC with his record, but, I dont think he currently deserves to be in the UFC. I hope that makes sense. I think Chikadze gets the win here

Deron WinnvsGerald Meerschaert

I just think that Meerschaert is savvy enough to get the win over Winn. Especially at 185. It would be just a tad bit embarrassing if Meerschaert loses the this small guy

Here is what actually happened.

The Adesanya call will be unbroken
