ALL CONTENDER SERIES 2019 GRADES
So Contender series really has improved. I was excited to see Armando Villarreal, but he got beat by a very hot prospect in Ode Osbourne. I have to make a pick between my Jamaican roots, and my Texas sensibilities. Villarreal has the bad habit of putting himself in bad situations, and when you fight people at the highest level, they take advantage of that.
So again, Here are grades of some of the talent on the show. These grades are only based on their Contender Series performance, and not their performance before in other organizations
Joseph Solecki, Antonio Trocoli, Hunter Azure, Maki Pitolo, Jonathan Pearce, Antonio Arroyo, Ode Osbourne, Don’Tale Mayes and Brendan Allen All got picked
Contender Series Week 3 and 4
Summary
- Pearce got in just because of grit. He’s a little low level
- Sumter and Pitolo were evenly matched but Sumter got caught playing a dangerous cover up game, maybe he thought they were fighting with big gloves
- Hunter Azure showed all areas of Mixed martial Arts, against a very good Ocon
- Trocoli didnt show much to be honest, but that’s part of the reason why he got in. He injured himself and didnt show anything
- Wallace was poor competition for Solecki
- Brendan Allen just dominates in the clinch. He’s always been able to do that
- Lawerence is weak and depleted and Syler couldnt put him away
- Mayes fought a fighter that couldn’t throw hands, like at all
- Armando Villarreal ran into the buzz saw that is Ode Osbourne
- Arroyo’s style actually remind’s me a lot of Jon Jones. He uses his length well, and is very patient
So the competition has really improved
