LFA 64: Round by Round results

I usually love the LFA. Every time I watch a show they usually show me someone new and that is interesting, not today. This Sioux Falls, South Dakota show was a little disappointing. A lot of fighters at the local level definitely have what it takes to to fight at the next level, but the fighters on this particular card have to make massive improvements if they what to move up

Main Event

Demarques Jackson vs Harvey Park – Lightweight

Round 1

Park is so stiff, he’s just asking to get KOed. He fights a little bit like Justin Gaethje- anyway Park eats a few combos in the beginning. Park throws some kicks to create distance and then he rocks Jackson with a right hand. He puts Jackson on the ground and then he rains down punches. The referee stops it at the bell. 🚩 Park wins by TKO read more

The LFA rolled into Belton, TX, just south of Temple to put on LFA 63. It was a fun card with a lot of wars. I was trying to watch The CES 55 event on Fight Pass, but my internet was going through some shit. I really wanted to see Jeremiah Wells. I saw on Twitter that he lost that fight due to a very, very very, very close decision. He’s a fantastic fighter. I didnt think he’d lose at all. Anyway – Back to Belton

Main Event

Justin Patterson vs Derrick Krantz – Welterweight

Round 1

Krantz keeps pulling Patterson into his power. Krantz has great footwork, and he seems to keep getting out of pressure traps that Patterson sets for him. Krantz blitzes Patterson and knocks him down. Krantz KOs Patterson as he tries to get up. An uppercut to knock him out, a straight left to baptize him. 🚩 Krantz wins by KO read more

LFA 62: Blog and prelim results

A Blog Post.

So, this is my first LIVE event. Yes, I’ve never been to a live MMA event, and this is my first one. I feel like I’ve been watching MMA forever though. I watch boxing, I watch Muay Thai once in a while, I watch grappling competitions when I can, but I’ve never been to a live MMA event.

I went to Dallas to check out LFA 62. The venue was The Bomb factory, located in Deep Ellum close to all the bars and night clubs on a Friday night. After about 9 p.m. Traffic gets Jacked. read more

The LFA was in Prior Lake, MN. The main card was a little bland, but learned about the fighters, and we saw what some of the local talent had to offer.

Main Event

Moses Murrietta vs Brendan Allen – Middleweight

Round 1

Allen comes out hard and takes Murrietta down. Murrietta looks like he’s out of ideas when he’s on his back, and Allen looks slow on top. At times Allen is just holding Murrietta down

Round 2

Murrietta comes out hard. Allen comes back with a combo of his own and then takes Murrietta down. Allen gets in full mount and begins to throw short shots, but he’s not doing a lot of work read more

The LFA rolled into The Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona for this one.

Main Event

David Michaud vs Christian Aguilera – Welterweight.

Round 1

Aguilera starts off looking to wrestle, as both guys look even on the feet. Michaud is able to drop Aguilera with a right, then he swarms him. Aguilera is defending himself, he gets put into a mounted Crucifix and the referee stops the fight.🚩 Michaud wins by TKO

This was a very early stoppage. Maybe the ref thinks that the fight is over when someone gets put into a mounted crucifix. I know Aguilera was intelligently defending himself, because he brought his feet up to the cage to push off and reverse the position, its just a shame that the referee wanted to be the star in this fight. read more

The LFA rolled into Albuquerque, New Mexico and I watched some fights and checked out some of the talent coming through.

Main Event

Jaleel Willis vs Harvey Park – Lightweight

Round 1

Willis clinches immediately. Park is able to break the clinch, and the two have a feeling out patch. Park has very poor head movement, and for some reason Willis is looking to take him down. Willis looks like he’s fighting scared- a lot of unsure movements and backing off. Park eventually rocks Willis, which sits him down. Park throws an illegal knee to a grounded opponent, the knee glances off Willis’ head, and Park finishes him with punches.🚩 Park wins by TKO read more
