Best in Texas 2019

So, I’ve seen a lot of fights in 2019. Ofcourse I havent seen everyone, but, I’ll go with the stuff I know. So here are my top 5 rankings, in weight divisions in Texas. Ofcourse, guys in larger organizations are excluded

Women

  • Desiree Yanez
  • Vanessa Demopoulos
  • Courtney King
  • Hailey Cowan
  • Audrey Wolfe

Women have a tough time in the fight game in general. They may need to travel to get fights, They may need to move up and down in weight classes, and sometimes life just gets in the way. A lot of good female fighters in Texas never really move on from the Amateur scene. Id really like to put Sam Hughes on this list. She’s fought in Texas a couple of times, but she really is from the PNW. She’d be number 1 or 2 on this list. Demopoulos fights out of California, but she’s had several fights in Texas

Heavyweight

  • Richard Odoms
  • Bubba McDaniels
  • Ike Villenueva
  • Vernon Lewis
  • Jeremy Hardy

Heveyweight is very shallow in Texas. There are some guys coming up, but there are not too many big guys doing it

Light Heavyweight

  • Ike Villenueva
  • Julius Holmes
  • Roger Reyes
  • Logan Nail
  • Rashad Coulter

Ike Villenueva sits on top. The man has massive power in a very shallow division, and he’s more active than any other LHW in Texas, that I know. I’ve seen Logan Nail fight once in 2019, and he was good, but once? that’s how shallow the division is.

Middleweight

  • Bubba McDaniels
  • Hayward Charles
  • Jhonoven Pati
  • Gilbert Urbina
  • Julius Holmes

I feel that the Middleweight division is the most sparse in Texas. There is not a lot. Jhonoven Pati is the only guy that consistently fights at that weight class

Welterweight

  • Anthony Ivy
  • Evan Cutts
  • Victor Reyna
  • Ramiz Brahimaj
  • Nicolay Veretennikov

This is the showcase division in Texas. I would like to put Santos Rosales Jr. In there, but he’s been very inactive. All the guys on this list could be in the UFC. BTW way there is a lot of wrestling on this list.

Lightweight

  • Victor Martinez
  • Jose Johnson
  • Will Morris
  • Brant Moore
  • Luis Luna

I would put Alex Munoz on this list, but he’s headed to the UFC

Featherweight

  • Austin Lingo
  • Elijah Johns
  • Cameron Graves
  • Jake Heffernan
  • Collin Wright

Its rough naming these guys, because a lot of guys move back and fourth from 155 to 145. Lingo would be at the top though

Bantamweight

  • Levi Mowles
  • Ray Rodriguez
  • Adrian Yanez
  • Jose Johnson
  • Leomana Martinez

There is so much talent in the Bantamweight division. I could probably make a top 10 list. I really wanted to put Armando Villarreal in there.

Flyweight

  • CJ Vergara
  • Cee-Jay Hamilton
  • Victor Altamirano
  • Ramiro Castillo
  • Alden Coria

A lot of this list is based on the fact that a lot of guys move between 125 and 135. I love the top 3, and Alden Coria is lacking experience, but I just like what I see from him
