We’ve had a rough year for MMA in 2020. There are so many fighters that missed out on their development this year and I’m pretty sure a lot of fighters had to quit MMA, because of the pandemic, but hopefully a lot of real fighters still have that spark and continue to train and get better. Some people say that you should never have a plan B. – 😅 I’m an advocate for plan Bs, and plan Cs and plan Qs, because you never know what life’s gonna throw at you, There is a vaccine now, and I’ve heard that its effective, so hopefully in 2021 we can all put this 2020 madness behind us. I dont know how the vaccine will work, but I’m hopeful. Just hopeful.
The LFA is finishing up its time in Sioux Falls. Chidi Njokuani was able to stop Christian Torres by strikes, in the second round, in the Main event.
Main Event
Round 1
They Clinch. Throw single shots, and Njokuani shows off his Muay Thai Base
Round 2
Njokuani drops Torres with a quick left high-kick and puts a hellacious beating on him on the ground. Torres is able to stand and Njokuani knees him to the body and finishes the fight.🚩 Njokuani wins by TKO
Torres is tough and wild, and sloppy in transitions. Njokuani hates to be pressured, and looks like a slave to that Muay Thai style he has, when his style works well- its works very well though
So, I was thinking about heading to The Bomb Factory to watch some of these fights, but I’m glad I did not. I wasn’t stirred. The Judges were bad, but the Mixed Martial Arts was good.
Texas, Oh Texas, why are you so beautiful, yet so damn frustrating. I really think the Judges gave the fights to the favorites on the card. I dont think that they actually know what they’re looking at. Its complete garbage
Main Event
Round 1
Jackson rocks Chaulet of the feet. Takes the back and finishes by RNC. 🚩Jackson wins by submission.
So, I’ve seen a lot of fights in 2019. Ofcourse I havent seen everyone, but, I’ll go with the stuff I know. So here are my top 5 rankings, in weight divisions in Texas. Ofcourse, guys in larger organizations are excluded
Women have a tough time in the fight game in general. They may need to travel to get fights, They may need to move up and down in weight classes, and sometimes life just gets in the way. A lot of good female fighters in Texas never really move on from the Amateur scene. Id really like to put Sam Hughes on this list. She’s fought in Texas a couple of times, but she really is from the PNW. She’d be number 1 or 2 on this list. Demopoulos fights out of California, but she’s had several fights in Texas
The LFA rolled into Belton, TX, just south of Temple to put on LFA 63. It was a fun card with a lot of wars. I was trying to watch The CES 55 event on Fight Pass, but my internet was going through some shit. I really wanted to see Jeremiah Wells. I saw on Twitter that he lost that fight due to a very, very very, very close decision. He’s a fantastic fighter. I didnt think he’d lose at all. Anyway – Back to Belton
Main Event
Round 1
Krantz keeps pulling Patterson into his power. Krantz has great footwork, and he seems to keep getting out of pressure traps that Patterson sets for him. Krantz blitzes Patterson and knocks him down. Krantz KOs Patterson as he tries to get up. An uppercut to knock him out, a straight left to baptize him. 🚩 Krantz wins by KO
